Road Trippin

Pictures Taken on February 20-25, 2002

Sunset Snaps

Sunset along the highway between Adelaide and Kingston.

Sunset

View from Hugh's camera.

Wild Willows

Chris snapped this picture of some wild willows along the road.

Trick Photography

Can you figure out how this picture was taken? Hint: It was snapped from the front seat of the rental car.

Koala

Chris miraculously spotted this Koala in the V branch of a tall tree after 45 minutes of looking up from the passenger seat of the car... at 60 mph! The Koala watched us from above and also moved in slow motion...just like in the movies.

Koala Closeup

The Koala Chris spotted was fairly high in the tree and this is as close as we could get with the camera. As it turns out, this is the only Koala we saw during our 5 weeks in Australia.

Fore!

Chris gearing up for a tee shot at Port Fairy Golf Course in the South of Australia.

Hey, look at Me.

Chris is a "little light on her feet" at Port Fairy golf course. We played the back nine and the holes were situated right along the coast.

Superman, Take Me Away.

After driving all day, we arrived very late at night in a very small town called Kingston and ended up in a $40 dollar a night room. The Karoake singing in the bar lasted until after midnight followed by the Jukebox until 2am. Last song on the Jukebox..."I Am Superman." As you can guess, we did not get any sleep

The Morning After

Looks good from the outside. Who would have thought that there were no bathrooms in the rooms but shared ones in the hall?

Award Winning Hotel?

The sign on the outside of the hotel claims the hotel was voted one of the best businesses in town. We came to find out it's the only business in town!

Rock Lobster

As we were leaving the "award winning" hotel in Kingston, we came across this GIANT three story lobster. Apparently, this is someone's idea of a tourist attraction. Only in Australia!

Can You Say Sushi?

Upon closer examination, we found that the poor lobster is for sale. We considered buying it, however, we thought shipping it might be a little costly.
