Perth city from Kings Park. The city sits on the Swan river and is a very vibrant, cosmopolitan and modern place.

Perth at Dusk

Perth grew slowly until the discovery of gold in the 1890s. It's considered Australia's third largest city, after Sydney and Melbourne.

Gum Trees

Hundreds of massive eucalyptus trees (or Gum trees) can be found in Kings Park. Gum trees are ubiquitous throughout many parts of Australia. This one stands over 100 feet.

Gum Trunk

Many of the eucalyptus trees have formed incredible patterns on their trunks as they loose or shed a "paper like" bark. The width of this massive gum tree was about the size of my arm span -- over 6 feet.
