Tree Top Walk
We signed up for the impressive Tree Top Walk that allowed us to walk on a 600 meter ramp structure high into the kauri and tingle trees. |
|
|
The Structure
At the highest point, the structure is 130 feet above the ground. |
|
|
High On Top
Four Rare species of eucalypts grow within 6 miles of each other in this region on the South West Coast. |

Grandmother Tree
Chris, now on the ground, sits in front of the Grandmother Tingle tree. It's about 25 feet behind her so it's hard to see the scale of how big it is. |

Timber!
It's amazing that these trees stay upright. This tree was burned out from fire and by natural spores that eat away at the inner core. |

Look, I have my arms up!
This shot gives you and idea of how massive the kauri and tingle trees really are. |
